Problem with Arista Transcoder

I've been trying to install Arista Transcoder on my Fedora 17 KDE 64bit. I install it following the instructions I found in this forum (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=261884), and it seems to install correctly. However, when I try to run it, it seems to start and it hangs in there until it disappears after a minute or so. When I type arista-gtk in Terminal, it says:
[root@LocalPC]# arista-gtk
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/arista-gtk", line 2334, in <module>
import gst
ImportError: No module named gst

Does anyone know what's going on or how to solve it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Problem with Arista Transcoder

if you want to install the archive from their website, follow the instructions in the readme file.

dependencies needed:
Quote:
* python-cairo
* python-gobject
* python-gtk >=2.16
* python-gconf
* python-gstreamer
* python-gudev or python-dbus with HAL
* python-nautilus (if using Nautilus extension)
* python-pynotify (optional)
* python-rsvg (if using KDE)
* python-simplejson (if using python 2.5 or older)
* gstreamer-ffmpeg
* gstreamer-plugins-base
* gstreamer-plugins-good
* gstreamer-plugins-bad
* gstreamer-plugins-ugly
* gnome-python2-rsvg
* gstreamer-plugins-bad-nonfree
some of these packages have a slightly different name in Fedora. The gstreamer packages are in the rpmfusion repository.

Re: Problem with Arista Transcoder

Perfect! Thanks a lot!
TheBigRed: the package from that link worked like a charm. Arista is running without problems.
Fenrin: I was trying to install the archive from their website but after you mentioned that, I remember seeing a couple of dependencies that yum couldn't find.
