nope. It's a Nvidia installer bug. I forget where I got the link, but
    Code:
    cat /var/log/nvidia*
to see the error, google the line, and then you'll find a (Gentoo, i think?) thread with the patch link.
edit: wow im an idiot. The patch was on my system... I attached it.
    Code:
    sh nvidia-installer --extract-only
    cd NV*
    patch -p0 < NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-8178-U012206.diff.txt
    ./nvidia-installer

If anyone is looking for a x86_64 DVD torrent we could use some more help. I was getting ~160 KB/s, but I'm down to ~75 KB/s now. I'm at 22% now. There is only one 100% seeder and very few downloaders right now.

I have the nvidia module fix:
    Code:
    wget http://people.redhat.com/davej/kernels/Fedora/FC5/RPMS.kernel/kernel-2.6.15-1.2059_FC5.`uname -m`.rpm
    wget http://people.redhat.com/davej/kernels/Fedora/FC5/RPMS.kernel/kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.2059_FC5.`uname -m`.rpm
    wget http://www.leemhuis.info/files/fedorarpms/MISC.lvn/graphics/xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-1.0.8178-0.lvn.5.i386.rpm
    wget http://www.leemhuis.info/files/fedorarpms/MISC.lvn/graphics/nvidia-kmod-1.0.8178-0.lvn.3.2.6.15_1.1881_FC5.src.rpm
    rpm -ihv kernel*.rpm
    reboot
    select the new kernel, then:
    su -
    rpmbuild --rebuild --target `uname -m` nvidia-kmod-*.src.rpm
    cp -a /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/`uname -m`/kmod-nvidia* ./
    rpm -Uvh kmod-nvidia-1.0.8178-0.*.rpm xorg-x11-drv-nvidia*
    modprobe nvidia
    < ctrl + alt + delete >
    reboot, enjoy

FYI... I used that link from Spain further up in the thread and it worked pretty well. Was getting almost 400 kB/s. Took under 2.5 hours to download the entire DVD iso.

I was on the piratebay.org torrent, but my throughput was just stuck between 60-100 kB/s. I just checked back again, and there are like 7 full seeders, with only a couple dozen peers, and the throughput was no better. I may be the victim of some serious packet shaping by adelphia.

uhmm...i`ve got a little error with the nvidia driver...

    Code:
    wget http://people.redhat.com/davej/kernels/Fedora/FC5/RPMS.kernel/kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.2059_FC5.`uname -r`.rpm
    --06:48:16-- http://people.redhat.com/davej/kernels/Fedora/FC5/RPMS.kernel/kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.2059_FC5.2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp.rpm
               => `kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.2059_FC5.2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp.rpm'
    Resolving people.redhat.com... 66.187.233.237
    Connecting to people.redhat.com|66.187.233.237|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found
    06:48:17 ERROR 404: Not Found.
I guess it seems that it cannot find the kernel-devel package ... any ideas?

@firewing: I was 99.9% convinced on installing fc5 before monday. I would have probably installed it 30 minutes after burning the DVD. But I decided to install it right away because of the nvidia driver thing.

Edit: I belive that it gives me that error because i have a smp kernel and there is no smp kernel on that server...
