HP Pavilion dv6137tx and Fedora 8...webcam getting warm

Hi

I've just installed Fedora 8 on my HP Pavilion dv6137tx notebook and I've noticed that the webcam is getting warm even though its not in use. I made a similar observation with Fedora 7 and Mandriva Linux 2008, so I think its drawing power even though its not ON (the light isn't turning blue). Whats the reason for this?

Should I be concerned?

Thanks

Cheers
Vivek

Well, I feel the area around my webcam is getting a bit warm too even when the webcam isn't used, so I don't think it's any problem with your machine specifically. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it's not getting hot.

Hmm, I had to stay in Windows for almost a day to establish that it was in Linux only that the webcamera was getting warm.

Also, I don't have much experience using Linux on notebooks....should I customize the power management? If so, how?

I only ran Vist to update the BIOS, so I don't know how it heats in Windows. It's just slightly warm right now after 3 hours in 28 degree C.
