Strange gnome behaviour

I installed java a little while ago, and its done something strange to my zip files.

Originally it wanted to "own" anything .zip, which is fixed, now its back to archive manager opening zip files as it should be. But I now get "odd" behaviour, when im "browsing" my file system, zip files turn up with the archive manager icon and the type "ZIP Archive". However, when i single-click on them, they change to a java icon and "Java Archive".

What could cause this?
