I've just installed F7 (64-bit) on my AMD64. (The package updates are currently being downloaded.)
Unlike the F7 (32-bit) installation on my Celeron/i915GM laptop (which has 1280x800 native ws), the screen isn't maximized to it's full horizontally; there's an 8mm gap/black column on each side.
Both my monitor and GFX card have been recognized, When I look at System->Admin->Display, it shows:
Monitor type: 20WGX2 (autoconfigured)
Video card: nVidia Corporation G80 [GeForce 8800GTS]
Here's a section from my /var/log/Xorg.0.log :
(II) NV(0): #6: hsize: 1680 vsize 1050 refresh: 60 vid: 179
(II) NV(0): Supported additional Video Mode:
(II) NV(0): clock: 146.2 MHz Image Size: 433 x 270 mm
(II) NV(0): h_active: 1680 h_sync: 1960 h_sync_end 2136 h_blank_end 2240 h_bor
(II) NV(0): v_active: 1050 v_sync: 1053 v_sync_end 1059 v_blanking: 1089 v_bor
(II) NV(0): Ranges: V min: 56 V max: 75 Hz, H min: 31 H max: 83 kHz, PixClock
max 170 MHz
(II) NV(0): Monitor name: 20WGX2
I noticed the image size quoted in millimetres - 433x270mm in the log file - which is physically correct. But the actual display shown only measures around 417x270mm.
Is there anything I can do to expand it to use the full screen?
