Link Master and Master Mono Volume Controls FC7 w/ GNOME

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 which has multimedia keys on the front. Unfortunately, the volume keys only control the Master level but the 9300 has a separate subwoofer on the Master Mono channel. Consequently, adjusting the volume with the keys does not provide complete control of the sound as the Master Mono level remains unchanged. How do I link the two together in GNOME under FC7?

I also have an Inspiron 9300. Supposedly, you can go to System -> Preferences -> Hardware -> Sound and hold down Ctrl to select multiple devices to control. Unfortunately, it has no effect for me.

Same here

I have tried the "hold down CTRL" trick and it has not effect. Currently, I have the volume applet set to control the Master Mono and of course the keys control the Master so I can fully control the volume but nothing keeps them "locked" together so I can easily have too much bass or any combination thereof.
