no automatic wireless connection

Hi All,
I have an open wireless network, but everytime I startup fedora on my laptop, the network doesn't get an IP address. I go to control center, admin user, then just open network connections, and close the windows; network is up and I can use it.

1) How can I make the connection automatic without me doing this everytime ?
2) I need to make it for secured and open connections.

Thanx

mha

In the network config window, disable onboot

In /etc/rc.local add the line
ifup eth0 (or whatever the connection is called)
