All windows start beyond the upper left hand corner.

I am having a problem with my windows being initially drawn above and to the left of my upper left hand window. I have included an example picture. This is really annoying to have to hold alt and move it to the correct place every time. Can anyone explain what might be wrong and how to fix it?

Thank You.

I have never experienced that, but I have seen similar posts about that lately. Like this one, maybe?

The post you sent me too seemed to have good information at first. They encountered the same problem. However installing beryl didnt fix it for me. Beryl is set to place windows in the center of the screen. I also made sure it wasnt using compiz as the window manager which is an option.

I really have no clue how to fix this. I also no longer am able to move my mouse to the upper right hand corner of the screen and have it show all windows on that desktop. I cant figure that one out either.

See my compiz/beryl howto: You need to add the 'Place' plugin.

Thanks a lot. The place plugin fixed everything.

Do you know if there is a sepearate plugin to enable the window screenshots when moving the mouse to the upper right hand corner of the screen?

If you activate the 'screenshot' plugin the same way 'place' had to be activated, then you should be able to set hot corners for it.
