Thanks leigh123,

..should have guest that, that was the problem. Following those instructions I was able to swap the kernel and the drivers installed as they should have.

Sorry for getting back late. I used that xorg.conf that you displayed, but I am still getting the same results.

Is there a more current version of xconfigurator? Or can I do anything with kudzu?

If you remove /etc/modprobe.conf and /etc/sysconfig/hwconf then restart kudzu it should reconfigure your system. It may change nothing, but once that got my broken sound to work properly.

Have you installed the 32bit libraries of the nVidia driver?

If it return two 'not installed' then it's not there - One 'not installed' and you're okay.

HI Firewing,

Would you have any idea as to why 64-bit direct rendering works, but 32-bit direct rendering doesnt (In Cedega)?

Is there any command I could use to make glxgears run in 32-bit mode? - then if it uses direct rendering I know its a Cedega problem and not a driver problem

Thanks
Kevin

See my post above to check if the 32-bit libs are installed - If not, then that is why you're without DRI.

Hi Firewing, it is installed:

# rpm -q xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-96xx-libs-32bit xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-32bit
package xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-96xx-libs-32bit is not installed
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-32bit-1.0.9755-4.lvn6

I would try doing a manual ldconfig:
Code:
su -
ldconfig
exit

Hello, I got a kernel update a few days ago, and since then, I have been unable to run dual monitors, when I boot up I land at a text interface and have to re-configure X.
I tired uninstalling and re-installing the nVidia drivers and got the following:

Code:
[root@wi****away ~]# service nvidia restart
Disabling the nvidia driver: Driver already disabled.
                                                           [ OK ]
Checking for module nvidia.ko: [FAILED]
nvidia.ko for kernel 2.6.20-1.2933.fc6 was not found. [WARNING]
The nvidia driver will not be enabled until one is found. [WARNING]

Try:
Code:
yum install kmod-nvidia
yum update kmod-nvidia
And then reboot into the newest kernel.

Code:
Transaction Check Error:
package kernel-2.6.20-1.2948.fc6 (which is newer than kernel-2.6.20-1.2944.fc6) is already installed
package kmod-nvidia-1.0.9755-2.2.6.20_1.2948.fc6 (which is newer than kmod-nvidia-1.0.9755-2.2.6.20_1.2944.fc6) is already installed

Have you made any changes to your SE Linux policies, that can cause the error message your getting to be displayed.
