FC4 freezes every 20 minutes!

I'm running X Window System Version 6.8.2

I tried to install a serial wacom tablet on linux fc4 but had errors about PATH to gcc not being found.
Now I get freezes just about every 15 - 20 minutes while in a shell, trying to access Yahoomail, opening windows, random stuff. Is there anyway I can set back my system to a previous state when it was more stable?

Is there a way to kill a process or do a killall in linux?

How can I check what's causing the freezes and why my system is so unstable?

What exactly do you mean by "freezes", does the whole system lock up? Do you have to "hard reset" or can you still exit to a shell (ctrl+alt+F1)?

How did you install the Wacom drivers, and how did you setup your tablet?, What kernel version? Did you build hid.ko from the wacom drivers? Please a bit more infor would be bettter.
