Insert data to Mysql from syslog server

Hello I'm trying to insert data to mysql database table in "real-time" for syslog-ng server, I googled it and I found that people use pipe files, I tried all the guides I found but nothing works for me, somebody can tell me how to do it?, by the way I am runing on FC4.
