Terminal Color/Resolution

Hi!

My BF had set up a FC system for me. It is running FC without a GUI, think is runlevel 3. I would like to increase my terminal resolution and change my font color to green (on black). May I ask which file and what to edit?

Thanks
Qingz!

Interesting problem, and I don't know many people who would happily use run level 3 full time... have you considered a GUI, if you have an older computer you might want to check out damn small linux which has a GUI but will run no probs on older hardware... anywho, if you really love your terminal (and lynx as a browser) you might want to check out midnight commander as a program which will give you greater control over how you work and (if I remember correctly) you can change the colour pretty easy in that.

As for resolution I don't know what to tell you, you would normally use your Xorg.conf to change stuff like that without using the GUI but that is the control for X which you won't be starting... so I don't know what to tell you

as for changing the colours without installing anything else then I'm not aware of a file which would need to be changed, I think that you might be able to do it within some terminal commands but I'm not an expert, so you might just have to wait for someone else if none of my advice helps

I actually tried out the Security Auditor Collection at www.remote-exploit.org and the Live CD has a high resolution CLI. I would like to change my box to something like it and add the green text for extra coolness.

Oh yes, I still prefer CLI than GUI as I do not really use the mouse.
