Segmentation faults

Our server suddenly started giving Segmentation faults
for every command:

root@fusion yp]# df .
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
[root@fusion yp]# df
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
[root@fusion yp]#
-------------------------------

[root@fusion log]# ps -elf | grep 3dm
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I rebooted it, but the shutdown also had many Segmentation
faults. I checked the filesystems, and they seem ok, but
the problem still exists.

Any advice appreciated.

Mornin' Anne.

First up, please understand that I don't know a durn thing about servers. I'm posting here mostly because I'd hate to have you get frustrated thinking you were being ignored.

I'm sure one of the server-savy will be along directly. However, at first blush, if this nasty little headache were dropped into my lap, out of sheer ignorance, I'd start by looking for some bad RAM, or a disk going south.
