Yum?

Hello.. I recently tried to configure the wireless coneection but I seemed to messed up something in the network settings.. Although I have no problem accesing web pages and ping works with no problem when I try to Update the Software I get the Following Error:
Unable to retrieve update information
Unable to retrieve software information. This could be caused by not having a network connection available.

Also when I'm trying to Add/Remove Software I get the same error.. Please if you have some advice or information I'd be glad..

Thanx..
Stefanos

P.S.(P). I tried to uninstall yum and install it again back when I get the following
rpm -e yum
error: Failed dependencies:
yum >= 2.5.3 is needed by (installed) pirut-1.0.3-0.fc5.noarch
Please help??
