FC5 from CentOS after OSS driver update

Hello all,

I installed FC5i386 on a socket754 A64 E6 proc. I was running 1st CentOS I386 but grew tired of it complaining about bios issues, so updated to x86_64 (CentOS), now the SB Audigy Gamer I have installed NEVER really worked right (well it did on FC3 and FC4 a while back, AND it's working right now in WinXP), heres the problem.

Trying to get it to work I installed the OSS drivers from:http://www.opensound.com/amd64linux.html

Followed the instructions to the letter, no install errors, however, NO sound at all, after removing again following the instructions to the letter I find it had deleted /dev/dsp among other things, try as I might I could not get sound to work again.

So I thought to hades w/it I'll go back to Fedora, loaded up the FC5i386 cd, REMOVED all the old partitions, readded them told it to format them - which it did during install, however on 1st boot when it gets to Kudzu it gives a soundcard error, then when initializing hardware I get about 8 errors in a row saying something about this is true but shuold be false, etc.......ALL related to the sound card, it then hard locks and I can do nothing except hit reset.

It does this with the card out of the box as well?

I realize this is not alot of info, however it would probably take an hour for me to write down the errors and reboot into winxp and type them in.

TYIA!!!
