fedora core 5 installation failed !

hi,
I am relatively new to Linux. I used to have winXP and mandriva on my PC.

As I install FC5 the, a while after the istallation has began the system reboots in the middle of the 1st or the 2nd CD giving no warning, as if I have pressed the reboot button.
I have checked the CDs for errors.

My PC is a P4 (2.4Ghtz), with Mercury 845 chipset, 256Mb RAM, std monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I have one 40Gb hard disc with 4 partitions, 3 with vfat and 1 with ext3. I have allocated a 9.5Gb partition with ext3 file sys for FC5, on which I previously had mandriva. During installation I have manually selected the partition to mount FC5. I have tried doing the minmalistic installation to save space.
I have tried using all the optons in the help but none has helped me.

I do not know what to do, either I am missing something simple or my hardware does not support.

Can somebody help me with this?
