Mysterious "avc: denied" boot message.

What causes this kind of boot message? I disabled enforcement of SELINUX.

Code:
Mar 31 23:00:40 localhost kernel: audit(1143867638.142:2): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=2062 comm="hald" name="/" dev=dm-3 ino=2 scontext=system_u:system_r:hald_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:var_log_t:s0 tclass=dir
Mar 31 23:00:40 localhost kernel: audit(1143867638.142:3): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=2062 comm="hald" name="/" dev=dm-4 ino=2 scontext=system_u:system_r:hald_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:file_t:s0 tclass=dir
Mar 31 23:00:40 localhost kernel: audit(1143867638.182:4): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=2062 comm="hald" name="/" dev=dm-3 ino=2 scontext=system_u:system_r:hald_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:var_log_t:s0 tclass=dir
Mar 31 23:00:40 localhost kernel: audit(1143867638.182:5): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=2062 comm="hald" name="/" dev=dm-4 ino=2 scontext=system_u:system_r:hald_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:file_t:s0 tclass=dir
Code:
[root@localhost ~]# sestatus
SELinux status: enabled
SELinuxfs mount: /selinux
Current mode: permissive
Mode from config file: enforcing
Policy version: 20

disable seLinux completly and see if the messages persist.
I'm thinking of: selinux=0
kernel boot parameter
