how to install two linux distros??

currently i have installed fedora core 4!! i'm planning to try out another distro(maybe ubuntu ;-) ) ... but i dont want to throw away my favo fedora!! how can i do this!!! is it possible to install both distros on the same ext3 filesystem??? shud i make a separate swap space?? am i taking any risk????pls hlp me.....
