I am thinking about getting a new motherboard, CPU, and video cards here is my current setup:
asus AMD MB with nforce chipset
AMD CPU @ 2.2 Ghz
1GB RAM
Nvidia 6600
Nvidia 5500
Nvidia 5500
Here is what I want to get:
64-bit AMD 4000+ CPU @ 2.4Ghz
A8N-SLI Delux Socket 939 AMD MB
2GB RAM
Nvidia 7800 GT OC (to replace the primary 6600 card)
honestly I only want to upgrade for better 3d performance but heck why not go all out eh?
My questions .... I do not want to reinstall FC4 I want to just swap the components out, however I am worried that the 32-bit FC4 install will not work or will have issues running on the 64-bit arch.
Who can lay my worries to rest?
Will it run in 32-bit mode?
I just wont get the added benifits of 64-bit binaries on 64-bit hardware?
Or will I be all screwed up and have to reinstall with 64-bit FC4?
If I will have no issues running my 32-bit install I can upgrade slowly to 64-bit, but if my curent install on the hard drive will not work when it boots up and sees the new CPU then should I:
A. just upgrade the video card the rest of the hardware is still good
or
B. dont upgrade anything just save my money
