I am wanting to write a java program that will contact a MySQL database on a FC 3 server over the web or internally.
Currently I am developing the program on a WinXp machine using JCreator 3.5. I believe I have set jdbc up correctly, i.e. the mysql*3.1.jar file is extracted into the java installation directory and the environment variable set to it. I am using JDK 1.5.0_05 to develop.
I am using the following code to connect to the FC3 server from the program
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection
("jdbc:mysql://22.214.171.124:3306/mysql", "user", "password");
Where "126.96.36.199" is the IP address of the server. Is this the correct sytnax for connecting remotely?
I have set an exception in the Firewall on FC3 to allow connections on port 3306:tcp. When I run the program I get this error:
java.sql.SQLException: null, message from server: "#Host '188.8.131.52' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server."
Can anyone suggest a way to solve this problem please.
