What's wrong with my hsf modem?

Hi,all
I got a conexant HSF modem in my laptop, i had downloaded driver for it from linuxant.com. It was just a free version for i had no chance to pay for its full version, I'm in China though.
Now, i got problem with it when OS startuping, it would stop when
start modem: conexant HSF softmodem
every once in a while, after that, it would reboot and then all seemed work very well. But it would happen again a few days later.
What's wrong with it? Does it caused by the driver or some other things? Maybe i'll have to uninstall the driver and search for another. But where can i found that one?

P.S. I got FC4 installed.

i use the conexant modem with the driver from linuxant.com but not got any problem, the driver will not cause the problem if it is properly installed, select the proper driver for your kernel version, and setup the port to /dev/modem or as you see while installation of driver, in kppp.

Hello,

My advice would be to remove the old driver and install from the generic RPM. I originally had this problem when I installed two different versions of the FC packages. I removed both of them and put the generic in it's place and it worked fine.

Thank you!
I've got that one! Does your modem use that generic RPM or source package now?

My kernel version is just 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 i686
But i can cause the problem above if i install that driver match the kernel version. I'm using GNOME.
Do you use free version?

I found this in linuxant.com, If my problem was caused by this?

Note to Fedora Core 2, 3 and 4 users:The default stack size in original FC2, FC3 and FC4 kernels is only 4K. Because some drivers require more stack space to operate properly, we recommend using a kernel with a larger stack size if you experience problems or crashes. You can either rebuild your own custom kernel, or get one of our replacement "stk16" kernels provided for your convenience through the distribution-specific Fedora Core 2, 3 and 4 links above.
