Url opening in Thunderbird

Okay for Thunderbird whenever I click on a link it asks me whether to open the program in the default (htmlviewer) open with program or save as how do I change this to simply open up in firefox without prompting me? When I try opening the link up with firefox it appears to have saved the page onto my hd and opened it from there so none of the pictures load. Thanks for any help.

Have you set firefox to be the preferred app to run in Preferences -> Preferred Applications? Also check that the http and https extensions are set to firefox in Preferences -> File Types and Programs. And again, check thunderbird's settings to see what default browser program it's using.

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thun...linuxurls.html

here comes my question:
i used to save the script (from the link above) as "/usr/bin/browser" and set "browser %s" as default in gnome control panel, it works well

but i did NOT install gnome with fc2test1

someone told me just to add "export BROWSER=browser" in my bash_profile, i tried and it's not working, any idea?

Funny about this....in my Fedora Core 1 installation, when I click on a URL, it automatically opens Knoquerer on the link. I didn't TELL it to do that, it just does. Mozilla says that future versions of Thunderbird will have this feature added out of the box. That will be nice.

I have to go home and check to see how to open Firebird instead of Konquerer...I have NOT tried the shell script that is given as an example since I can get to a URL anyway.

I am hoping that the next version of Thundirbird (0.6) will have this resolved.

I am using NON rpm version os Firefox and Thunderbird, installed without an installer, linked myself to my path. Just for information.

i think that's because KDE did it for you

the problem of mine is that i don't have gnome, nor kde
and i didn't find a similar function with xfce

the suggestion of defining "BROWSER=" sounds reasonable, but i don't know why it does not work for me
