Audigy 2 Soundcard not working correctly in FC4

I just installed FC4 having succesfully downloading the official DVD ISO.

However I have been left with no sound. I have checked the mixer programs and all the levels appear to be fine.

I have a soundblaster audigy 2 soundcard (value i think) and it worked flawlessly in FC3, another interesting point is that my card failed to work in mandriva 10.2.

Any help on this would be appreciated. Only got back into linux this week after a break of over 3 years

Same problem here with an Audigy 2 ZS. Mixer levels are fine, lsmod shows all the snd_* modules loaded, but no sound. I went back and installed the old FC3 kernel (2.6.11-1.27_FC3) and no luck there either.

Same here whimar Audigy 2 Value that used to work (with 1.0.8 ALSA) in FC3 doesn't work in FC4. The weird thing is Fedora detects it automatically while in FC3 it didn't detect it until I installed ALSA 1.0.8 from source.

Yeah, my Audigy 2 doesn't work on FC4 either. It worked in FC3, what the hell happened? Bah, I had been thinking of getting rid of it anyway, since my mobo comes with a high quality sound chip that I yet have to try with FC4.

This problem seems to be not specific to this card. I have the same problem with an SB Live 5.1 card.

Since I upgraded to FC4, it doesn't work anymore. system-config-soundcard find it, but the sound test failed. When launching alsaplayer, I get this error:

I have the same problem with an Audigy 2 Plat, detected but no audio....... Had no problems in any other distro. Is there a bug report for this on bugzilla? I sure would like my sound working!

I had this problem too,
here is how I fixed it:
open gnome mixer, Edit->Preferences
Select Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack, IEC958 Optical Raw and Tone
now check that Tone and IEC958 is desibled, and enable Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack
I did it in gnome, didn't find those options in alsa mixer from shell

I fixed mine too, but was so tired after finally wrestling with it that i didnt even think to come back here and post my solution, sorry guys!!!

Anyways, i managed to download alsaconf and managed to sort out the sound that way.

Just managed to get my Audigy 2 working with KMix. Go to the Switches tab, disable 'IEC958 Optical Raw' (middle button) and enable 'Audigy Analog/Digital' (right button) and it works just fine!

Anyways, i managed to download alsaconf and managed to sort out the sound that way.

Could you please let me know where you got it? It is not included in alsa-utils RPM in base repository. Did you find an RPM for it or compiled it from sources?
