I've just installed FC3 on same laptop. I searched the web and found this link
http://shinzui.org/comments/Dell+Inspiron+9100+on+Linux
from which I copied the xconf file and after second reboot it worked (first time it got menu size a bit wrong).
Had problems with audio but followed same procedure, search web and fiddled with gnome volume control, and got it working. Next is my wireless network card.
