I don't think nvidia cards are supported on my system (EPIA 800). Or at least the GeForce FX 5200 chipset doesn't seem to be. I first don't see the VIA vendor screen before the bootloader starts, when I figure any card should work, and then during boot, I get the following messages:
nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel.
PCI: Enabling device 0000:00:14.0 (0000 -> 0002)
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:00:14.0[A] -> GSI 10 (level, low) -> IRQ 10
NVRM: loading NVIDIA Linux x86 NVIDIA Kernel Module 1.0-7174 Tue Mar 22 06:44:39 PST 2005
NVRM: cpu does not support PAT, aborting..
The last line above seems to imply that there is a fundamental difference of opinion between the nvidia chipset and my system, and lsmod confirms that the nvidia driver isn't loaded after boot.
so rather than experiment with several different nvidia chipsets to see if they all behave the same, i'm thinking of going to an ati radeon 7000 card. but the whole point of the exercise is to get a tv out, so...is there anyone out there for whom this has worked? I'm on FC3, if that matters.
