Associating keybinding with applications...

My keyboad has several media buttons on it, as well as email, www, etc. I have successfully gotten the www button to open firefox and email to open evolution, all with gnome-keybinding-properties. This was easy as these are all gnome defaults. However, what I REALLY want to get working are the media buttons with XMMS, but it doesn't work. I believe this is because metacity is associating XF86AudioPlay, XF86AudioNext, etc with Rhythymbox. I've tried going through gconf-editor and setting the global and command keybindings manually, but it doesn't work. At least not with WindowMaker (though I thought it would still work with GDM running?? *shrugs*) Does anyone know how I might accomplish this?

(as a note I've looked through many guides and how-to's for this, but am open to any and all suggestions)

Yeah, I had followed your how-to before. Unfortunately it didn't work with WindowMaker.

Got it working. Just took the xmms-acme plugin. Here's the link for anyone else having trouble with this:
