Modprobe problem

Hi there,

I have migrated from debian to FC2, I have a laptop with an Smart Link winmodem, after downloading the driver and compiling it as a module, when I insert it into the kernel with "modprobe slamr", it works but when I restart the system it has been pushed out, I can't find it with lsmod.

As far as I know, after reading some HowTo's, it should be inserted on the kernel, and I should be able to find it through lsmod.

My question is why it's not working, should I do something else?

Thanks

Add this to /etc/rc.local

Code:
/sbin/modprobe slamr

Hi,
If it's giving you a "command not recognized" message, it's because it's located in /sbin/ not /bin/. Try
/sbin/lsmod/. Take a look at my terminal below...

[me@myhost ~]$ lsmod
bash: lsmod: command not found
[me@myhost ~]$ /sbin/lsmod
Module Size Used by
nvidia 3473692 12
usb_storage 61449 0
scsi_mod 120897 1 usb_storage
ohci_hcd 23381 0
.........................................
So on.................................

Good luck,
Firewing1
