Dell Inspiron 5150 Wireless Help

I am really new to Fedora Core. If possible, I would like some step by step instructions on how to get my wireless up and running. It's a Dell Trumobil 1350, and I have the driver, I just need to know how to disable the CONFIG_4KSTACKS (step by step if I have to download and extract a new kernel version). I have ndiswrapper -1.0. So, as a recap, I"ve got the right driver, and the ndiswrapper, just need to know abou the kernel and the rest of the config settings. I've been reading, and experimenting, but I haven't found a working solution. Also, I have disabled all the security options for my wireless router, so no WPK, WPA, or WEP is enabled. I'd like to get rolling soon, but I understand it will take time. For reference, my current kernel version is 2.6.10-1.766_FC3smp. The only problem with this is that if I try to disable the stacks from a non-root account, then my password doesn't work, and I get an error. If I am in the root, then I simpy get an error. Please help!

You might want to use g..gle to find an alternate kernel installation package without the 4k stack offered by linuxant ;-)

Okay. Do you think it would just be easier to get everything from linuxant? I have heard of people saying you can buy something that will fix the problem. If so, I may just do that, since I'm really new to it all. Thanks.

I have used linuxant on my Dell 5100 Inspiron and it works great with FC1,FC2 I also use linuxant with my FC3 desktop. A lot easier to use than ndiswrapper was at the time. I am not sure it ndiswrapper has been improved any because I didnt see the need to investigate it further.

linuxant costs around 22.00 US and well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys. I went with the linuxant driver program. I got it working, and everything's cool....except for when there's no networks detected in the boot process. I had to disable my LAN card because of the same thing. When I didn't have my networking cable plugged in, the computer would freeze during startup. But, for the most part, it's up and running.....Linuxant really was easy, and took care of it!
