Adding KDE to GDM Sessions Menu

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to add KDE to the Sessions menu in GDM. I installed Fedora Core 3 with GNOME only and recently installed KDE through the Add/Remove Applications in GNOME.

The only sessions listed in the menu are GNOME, Default System Session (which is GNOME), and Failsafe Terminal. I would like to have the default system session stay as GNOME and have an entry for KDE in the menu.

I tried creating a script named KDE in /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions but that didn't seem to work.

Thanks.

Yeah, I tried 'switchdesk kde' but that makes my default system session KDE. Any way to add KDE to sessions list and keep GNOME as the default?

That is very strange. I thought that KDE would install its own .desktop file. The .desktop files are the new way of kdm/gdm handling different window managers instead of hard coding information. Plus, the .desktop are compatible with both kdm and gdm. There should be a file named kde.desktop in /usr/share/xsessions/ or /etc/X11/dm/Sessions/. On my system, kde.desktop is in /usr/share/xsessions/. Also, KDE comes with their own .desktop files in /usr/share/apps/kdm/sessions/.
