Post How do I install updated binutils?

Hi,

This is my first post and I'm new to all this, so please bear with me. I have installed Fedora Core 2 and am trying to install Oracle 10g Database to practice my SQL and DBA skills. I have encountered an error when istalling the Oracle which says I have to update the binutils to at least 2.12.90.0.7-1.

I have found the rpm and burnt to CD but when I try to install using:

rpm -Uvh binutils-2.15.90.0.3-5.src.rpm

I get the error message:

error: cannot create %sourcedir /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES

Please can you advise how I should install the rpm

Thanks in advance for your help.
