FC17 server is not accepting connections from ssh and other

Hello i run Fedora 17 x86 on my machine
I have also other servers like Centos and Fedora 16 and imacs
I want to have a normal functioning network


From my other fedora 16 server or my Mac i get this error while the openssh is running and is not firewalled, iptables is off and flushed (iptables -Z -F )

this happens all the time after retrying 10 or 20 times (random) i can connect.

ssh root@192.168.123.34
ssh: connect to host 192.168.123.34 port 22: Connection refused

(service is running)

I have turned off NetworkManager and use the old "network" ( service network start )
but nothing is helping

i also have run udp6 and tcp6 connections ??
Why?
i also can't access other ports in my network?

Is it something with jumboframes? or?? i getting crazy

Maybe firewalld is running and ssh port not open?

Thanks for the answer.. but..

when i scan with nmap all is open.. nothing is filtered
i have disabled /etc/sysconfig/system-config-firewall
--disabled

i also can't access smb / nmb and when i install fc16 there is no prolbem all is working well

Is the sshd service enabled and started on the server? Is ssh allowed through the firewall?

systemctl enable sshd.service
systemctl start sshd.service 


If things still don't work turn the firewall off temporarily and see if you can ssh into the server. If so, it's a firewall issue.

Also with all other deamons it's the same... it looks like a firewall think or ipv6 hell?

Try restarting the ssh server

Yes i did that. and also i restarted the entire server
i shutdown selinux
i shutdown iptables
i shutdown firewall (iptables)

what is between the eth0 (ehh) p33p1 and the other server?

Could you show us your sshd_config file? Or is that too private?

it's the default file... but i notised that i have more problems from MAc (mountain lion) then from other servers like debian and centos.

Try to enable the line that says permit root login.
