No Sound After Plugging in Headphones

Hi,

I'm running a F17 KDE X64 machine. And I've noticed this issue over the last few kernel updates. I'm not sure that it's the kernel that's the problem, though.

Basically, if I plug in my headphones and watch a video/listen to music, everything is okay. But once I remove my headphones and want to play something off of my laptop speakers, there's no sound, unless I plug in my headphones again then I can hear everything perfectly (through the headphones, ofcourse.)

This isn't a problem with the laptop speakers, because it seems to work okay on a reboot. But logging out and logging back in doesn't seem to work.

Use 'pavucontrol' select the output tab, and then select the correct output device from the list

Re: No Sound After Plugging in Headphones

Hi,

I just had that problem be reproduced... and changing the output control from pavucontrol didn't help at all... I still had to reboot for the sound to work from my laptop speakers.

Any ideas?

that does not help. I'm having the same issue (lenovo thinkpad x230, F17) for couple weeks already. Happens every time after I use headphones. One sound card, and the output is "Analog speakers", always. "pulseaudio -k" does nothing, only reboot helps to fix the sound, till the next time I use headphones. Extremely annoying.
