NVIDIA 310.14: OpenGL 4.3, Threaded Optimizations

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...tem&px=MTIwNzQ

Quote:
NVIDIA pushed out their first Linux graphics driver beta in the 310.xx series on Monday. The NVIDIA 310.14 driver supports OpenGL 4.3, brings threaded OpenGL performance optimizations, and many other new features. The NVIDIA 310.14 Beta for Linux is an exciting release!

The most exciting features for the NVIDIA 310.14 Linux Beta is support for OpenGL 4.3 with GL4-capable graphics cards, support for the RandR backlight output property, performance and responsiveness improvements for windowed OpenGL applications running within an Ubuntu Unity session, and experimental support for OpenGL threaded optimizations.

Anyone attempt an install of this driver or anyone using it on their system? Just wondering how it works and if it installs ok.

Yellowman what DE are you using.I'm using KDE and I been reading about a patch for KDE and this driver.Maybe I'll give it a shot since all my data is stored on an external hard drive(learned the hard way lmao). It's hard to learn with only one cpu.If I run into trouble I start the old dual boot nightmare and I hate windows and going back and forth to read for a fix.I have not booted windows for a long long time and don't want to start. The updates alone will take hours. The instructions seem strait forward enough lol.Anything I should know with the install that is fedora specific? The patch I can apply later if needed.

oh I forgot is the driver in the rpm fusion repo only kidding lol
