Update!
*Dan lets out a huge sigh of relief!*
Folks ... I've heard from Dave! <.. ..>
Not much more info than that for now, but for those who's minds had drifted into the same dark territory that mine did, rest easy. The Dangermouse is still with us!
I'm therefore opening this thread up again.
That being said, I suspect any serious offers to help him with maintaining and updating AutoPlus would not go unwelcomed.

Re: Autoplus to help install codecs, flash etc...
That is great news Dan!
Dangermouse is one person that has spent quite a lot of time and money to help others with Fedora (and I'm sure in other areas as well) And it's a big relief that he's still with us.
I was just getting ready to try out his latest version of AutoPlus with F18 and see what broke, I know some things won't work, like install virtalbox, etc... because they don't have repos available for pre-release versions of fedora usually, but most of the other stuff should work.

Please stop posting about alacarte all over the place. Have a look through the forums, it has been discussed many many times before. It has nothing to do with this thread, post in a relevant one. FIRSTLY, have a look at this thread and the links in it:

Thanks Dan: it is excellent news. it's a big relief that he's still with us. Hopefully see a Autoplus recharged, and maybe joining forces. I'm working for PostInstallerF, ready to Fedora 18.

Woooohoooo!! The Dangermouse is back!
Welcome back, and I certainly hope that you are much better now.
I was in the process of looking into Autoplus and F18, but got sidetracked by several systemd bugs along the way.
It appears that rpmfusion has changed their repos and are going to be using the Fedora method of branching rather than keeping the pre-release in rawhide until right before the final is released. So this may make things easier for people wanting to use Autoplus on a pre-release version of Fedora.

Dan, Dave -
I noticed there are two programs, easyLife and Autoplus, that do pretty much the same thing and are mutually exclusive, and each program has something the other program is missing. And, I was thinking:
What if the two developers, Dave and Duli - easyLife's dev - would join forces, and create an unique utilities program that does what both programs currently do... and more?
(Something like the RPM maintainers did a while ago.)
My thinking is, two brains are better than one, Dave would have the help he needs, and users would not get confused over which program to use, or - like in my case - having to remove one program in order to use the other.
My two cents.

Re: Autoplus to help install codecs, flash etc...
I had Autoplus installed on F17. When I tried to install easylife.rpm, the installaer complained about a conflict between itself and easylife. If there is something on one that you require, install that program, after removing the other, then flip.
