Greetings,
I have installed F17 with Gnome 3 desktop and all updates. My desktop sits behind a router running dd-wrt which handles all connections to my isp and provides a static ip to my desktop. I decided to remove network manager and simply use system-config-network-gui to setup my connection. My desktop config isn't that complicated... it's just dhcp with everything handled at the router. For example, running dhclient eth0 after logging in makes everything work just dandy.
Unfortunately, upon booting up and logging in my network is in fact
not up and running. I have to run system-config-network-tui by clicking on its icon, I'm prompted for the root password, and then when I click 'activate' it brings up the network neat as neat can be. What I need to do is find someway to avoid doing all those steps after "booting up".
I have indeed checked the box that says activate device on boot, and unchecked the box that says let network manager handle this device.

I'm concerned that maybe systemd is disliking what I have done, but my googling has so far been un-fruitful. I would appreciate any hints, solutions, or beverages that you think might assist me.
Kind regards,
Craig.
