Battery always charging icon!

Hiii
i got a problem with my battery icon ..
it always shows " chargin " even if it's not plugged in
and it dosent hibernate or suspend for a low percentage !!

any ideas!

and yeah it my fedora 17 consume the battery so fast even with fall back mode
on windows it lasts for +3 hours .. but on fedora it doesnt last 1:30 hrs :S

Sounds more like a hardware problem rather than software ;-)

Try to disable nvidia graphics chip to increase battery life.

"windows" would also disable the graphics chip when it's not in use ;-)

You still are in the software section.

There is nothing wrong with the battery charging icon itself ;-)

Maybe try the notebook section instead with a better description of your problem?
