Hi folks,
I recently upgraded to Fedora 17 KDE and now fedora is stuck. When i start my pc, Grub loads and shows my fedora version and on selecting fedora 3.5.0-2.fc17.i686, the fedora logo loads as a white patch. It does not go beyond the white patch... It remains for hours. Can someone help me with this problem? It is driving me crazy!!!

update:
I don't know what happened, but i was finally able to log in. Now the system is stuck! Just hangs at the desktop. I don't know whats going on. Perhaps i should shift from Fedora to Ubuntu..
Yes, alt-tab or escape, and also see if the virtual consoles are available, esp ctrl+atl+f1 for mesgs.
I wouldn't leap to conclusions about it being the kernel w/o more evidence.

For a couple of times it started just fine. Today it started hanging again. As suggested i did a ctrl+tab and the booting process is getting stuck at a message "starting xinetd a powerful replacement for inetd" it does not go further than that. As a test i tried restarting a couple of times. The latest time i did that it got stuck with the message "started xinetd a powerful replacement for inetd". No further progress.
What should i do now?
Update:
Tried a few more restarts. It went past xine and now it says, "started LSB" when it hangs. Is there something wrong with the kernel or the hard disk?

This is an absoloute tragedy! It still does not login. Everything hangs by the time xinetd/Dovecot/NFS file locking system. Is there nothing i can do to solve this?
I see plenty of people moving from fedora to other operating systems. I am a hard core Fedora fan but then again maybe its time to follow suit
