BlueGriffon on fc-17 won't open

I downloaded and installed Blue griffon, yesterday. I have an icon on the Applications menu and there is a folder for bluegriffon in the file system.

When I click on the icon, I get about 7-10 seconds of the monitor staring at me and then it returns to whatever I was doing before. I suspect there is some glitz in the launcher (GNOME 3) but have no idea how to approach a fix.

I looked at removing bluegriffon and reinstalling but am not sure if that is the right approach (it was an rpm package from bluegriffon).

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dave.

Re: BlueGriffon on fc-17 won't open

Hi One Way Dave,

I just got a working Bluegriffon 1.5.2 on a new F17 LXDE x86_64 installation by downloading the most recent 64bit Ubuntu version:

Code:
wget http://bluegriffon.org/freshmeat/1.5.2/BlueGriffon-1.5.2-Ubuntu11.10-x86_64.tar.bz2
su -
cd /opt
tar xjf <path to BlueGriffon-1.5.2-Ubuntu11.10-x86_64.tar.bz2>
ln -s Bluegriffon/bluegriffon /usr/bin/bluegriffon

Mack, thats basically what I did, except I used the Ubantu ...rpm version. I'll try the remove the rpm and try the tar and see if that works, thanks.

Dave.
