Unhappy Dirvish exclude not working

Fedora 14 server
I run dirvish to backup every night.

in my master.conf and default.conf for dirvish I exclude /var/backup/**

Every night after the backup completes I see in the tree directory my backup folder which contains every back up that was done. This is a waste of space and time on the server.
What is wrong with my conf files?

I am new to dirvish and fedora and looking for the experts out here to help

my conf files

bank:
/var/backup
exclude:

As you can see the log file is very large thats because of the backup folder being backed up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Tom

dirvish-expire fails to delete

Fedora 14 Server

Nightly I run dirvish-expire and cron send me a report saying the images can not be expired

So I ran this to show you what I get

-bash-4.1# dirvish-expire -no-run
Expiring images as of 2012-08-20 11:49:59

tgcsnet.com:default 20120804 2012-08-05 01:22 +15 days == 2012-08-19 22:06

I have a master.conf and default.conf

-bash-4.1# cat /etc/dirvish/master.conf
bank:
/var/backup

lost+found/
core

.nfs*
/proc

No, it isn't. After everything else has failed try to read the FAQ http://www.dirvish.org/FAQ.html#what...ile_formatting

Thumbs down Re: Dirvish exclude not working

Sorry,

But I have read the FAQS

And YES the bank /VAR/BACKUP is in the exclude section of both master.conf and default.conf

No explanation of why something does not work.

Only simple and I mean simple examples.

If you do not have an answer then do not reply

Only looking for support from someone that is willing to help need some experts in the field.

According to the FAQ it is improperly formatted.

No "wildcards" such as "**" are listed.

Also - indenting is important. You would do better to include your samples within code blocks to preserve indentation - otherwise it becomes hard to see what might actually be wrong.

Re: Dirvish exclude not working

For a simple thing, just try using a tab.

I also suggest reading the documentation

http://www.dirvish.org/dirvish.conf.5.html
