Smile "As a matter of fact ..."

"... it is my chair. You gots a problem widdat?"

Normally, I wouldn't dream of posting a shot of a dirty chair ... but this one was clean ...before it got "acquired" by Mister Cat.

It's also important to know that this is a full-sized recliner we're looking at here.

We're around him all the time, so we tend to forget how flippin' big he is ... until I see something like this, and it reminds me that he's bigger than a lot of smallish dogs, raccoons, bear cubs etc.

So ... when he cracks one eye open .. and then wads up a fist ... I tend to walk away and let him sleep wherever he fancies. <....>

Maybe you could lure him out of the chair with a cozy box or paper bag...
Hey, it is not a lounger, but most cats love a cozy box. And to make the box even more cozy to a cat, it should have important papers or items at the bottom - that you need to get

He's not into boxes and bags. Mostly those are generated from hiding instincts, and he's never hidden a day in his life. He's more of a, "perch high to better strike from above" sort of a cat.

You might try getting another chair.

Then, when he takes that one from you as befits his rightful position in the household you can go back to your orignal.

Dang Dan! Those marking look a lot like a bobcat (just add a face ruff, and he would be a dead ringer for a bobcat).

I wonder if he is part bobcat with those markings and his size, also the way you describe his disposition would tend to lend credence to that as well.

Looks like maybe there was a bobcat in the kitty litter someplace.

Over here in the UK we have native wildcats - confined to Scotland these days - and there's evidence that they've interbred with feral house-cats ( if that isn't an oxymoron? ) Conservationists are concerned that there may not be that many pure blooded wildcats out there now, and quite possibly some house/farm cats with serious attitude!
