I installed the latest set of F16 updates (including a kernel update) and rebooted this morning, to find that the volume keys on the keyboard now don't work.
They are recognized as keys - if I go to the keyboard settings and shortcuts, I can select the shortcut for "Volume down" and press the volume down key, and it shows up. However pressing it generally doesn't do anything to the volume.
Any ideas on how to address this? I'm not sure what is responsible for handling these keys and adjusting the volume.

It seems it's not quite as simple as just the volume keys not working.
If I set any other key to be the "Volume down" shortcut for example, it still doesn't work, and I can assign the "Audio lower volume" key on the keyboard to some other action and it works.
So it seems that whatever is supposed to be adjusting the volume via the keyboard isn't doing it anymore, but I don't have a clue what that would be.
It seems that anything in the "Launchers" section of the keyboard shortcuts config is also not working - e.g. the Calculator button isn't launching a calculator (nor is any other key I try to use), not that I'm fussed by this, but it's another clue for someone maybe.
