Touchpad no longer working on F16

I appologise for creating a new thread. I have an Asus laptop (G73JW) and I'm running F16.

Recently, my touchpad has stopped working but I had a mouse so it was no problem. Today I forgot my mouse and i have been "tabbing" my way through links to get to write this.

So, the touchpad works in GDM but as soon as gnome starts it stops working.
I've tried:
a) Creating a conf file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ and set an input device
b) Used synclient to try to set the touchpad on
c) Reset the X11 configuration

Nothing worked. I'm hoping one of you can give me a hint to something that might work (I'm sure I missed something).

Thanks in advance.

P.S. The Fn + F7 used to disable the touchpad are not working (nothing new here, many functions don't work properly).

Re: Touchpad no longer working on F16

Below is the output of the Xorg log. Apparently it doesn't know the driver?!? But the mousepad works fine in GDM... just stops as soon as Gnome starts. Can anyone tell me what X11 is doing wrong?
