kernel support for multicast routing protocols ?

Hello, I am installing Quagga routing software on Fedora 11.

In the Quagga manual it mentions about the Linux kernel configuration having to have the entry "CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST". This allows for multicast routing protocols such as OSPF.

Does anyone know if Fedora 11 already allows for multicast routing protocols, or do I have to reconfigure the kernel with this option ?

Thanks for any advice.

Re: kernel support for multicast routing protocols ?

This is how you test ....

Quote:
[stevea@hypoxylon ~]$ grep CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST //boot/config*
//boot/config-3.4.4-5.fc17.x86_64: CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST=y
//boot/config-3.4.6-2.fc17.x86_64: CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST=y
//boot/config-3.5.0-2.fc17.x86_64: CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST=y

But of course multicast is a very basic network feature and I imagine every Linux PC distro has it enabled.
