runlevel system obsoletion

Are runlevels really obsolete? That's according to the runlevel man page.

Also, I have been reading the fedora 17 documentation, and found that there is a lot of incorrect/out-dated documentation on runlevels. I'm hoping to find out how the out-dated runlevel system has changed, and also when the change was made.

Re: runlevel system obsoletion

Try looking here for a "cheatsheet" about the new systemd commands to replace the old sysvinit stuff:

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SysVin...emd_Cheatsheet

And it pretty much happened with Fedora 15 when systemd replaced sysvinit.
