Hello,
I was searching around for my problem but didn't find anything that is even close to my description. So I decided to ask here.
The System: Fedora 17 running on a Lenovo Ideapad y570
+ It should be mentioned that I have no Swap Partition (because of large RAM) and that hibernation turned off due to that.
The Problem:
Running on battery the energy consumption program shows wrong values by the factor of 10. This notebook should consume between 10 and 15 Watt in idle mode, but the program shows 1 to 1.5. Also the battery capacity is reduced by the factor of 10.
I didn't ask, if that was the problem. Due to those false energy consumption values (i guess) I am experiencing the following problems:
+ When I plug in the power cord, the values are correct (loading with 60 watt) and the systems tells me, that the notebook is loaded in 1 to 2 minutes.
+ When I disconnect the power cord, the notebook either shuts down immediatly or shows the message that the battery will not last longer than 5 minutes and the system is going to hibernate.
+ Sometimes the notebook turns off in idle mode (and i think in use also, but i don't remember, so forget that

)
As I mentioned above, hibernation is turned off on my system so I think, that when the notebook turns off immediatly it would have gone in hibernation if possible. Also it should be mentioned, that everything is working well on Windows, i can pull the cord and the system runs.
Is there someone who knows what is going on on my system?
