Fedora 17 does not activate wireless network (thread 20

After installing fedora 17 I tried to make wireless connection to the internet for some tiime with the netgear dongle and was not succesful. This usb-adapter is changed with Asus usb n10 wireless adpter.

And indeed for the first time the system shows a pop-up menu for a wireless connection
So the wireless connection is recognized.
A password is given. Networkmanager starts to establish the connection. It fails continuously to fix this connection and finishes.

Is there anyone who can tells me how to solve this problem. The wrong driver ?

Reading some of the comments in this Redhat Bugzilla Report it appears that you may need to disable the IPv6 setting in network manager. That might help make the connection.

Just a thought.

Yesterday there was connection by the asus usb n10 adapter with the network. I had that before with the TL-Link card. One day later no connection coud be established.

Once again. Today no connection with the asus dongle.
Tried your idea to disable IPv6-setting. It does not help.
I am wondering how this can occur and be prevented.

Has anybody any idea ?

tbh I've been having those problems with the gnome network manager for as long as i can remember. Which is why i use wicd.

Problem with NetworkManager rather than "gnome network manager".

Pedantic perhaps. But I think Gnome is mostly separated from NetworkManager other than the GUI configuration tools.

Works with kernel 3.6.7-4.fc17.1686.
NetworkManager never shows the check mark in the applet so I can only tell its ready to use when the status changes from "Not Available" to "Disconnected". Shortly after it reads "Disconnected" then the available wireless networks show up and I can choose one to authenticate.
