27 inch imac 2011 wifi problems

hello. this is my 1st post on here so let's see how it works.

i have a 27 inch imac from 2011 and for some reason in fedora 17 gnome and kde the wifi is crap. it finds the wireless network and connects but i cant access the internet. when i ping anything it says something like "cant find host". i believe i have a broadcom card and have installed the drivers but still it didnt fix my issue.

any ideas????

P.S

i have verified that it's not a router issue. i've tried an ipad and another imac and both work as they should...
