mtp for android devices

I sadly discovered that android tablets and phones using mtp (ice cream sandwich) are not supported in f17. sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. is there any tutorial for fedora users to make this damned linux based android devices work under linux? shame on android and manifacturers that use linux and at the same time they dont' make a tool under linux for they products

Two options;
1) Change phone/tablet to UMS mode,
2) Use adb instead of mounting the phone filesystem.

ics products don t have usb m ass storage anymore
can u explain how to use adb? what is it?
