Failed to start Network Manager Wait Online

I installed Fedora 17 recently with the KDE desktop. Upon my first reboot I am facing the following error :

Code:
Failed to start Network Manager Wait Online [FAILED]
See 'systemctl ststus NetworkManager-wait-online.service' for details.
Starting RPC bind service ... [OK]
...
Would be great if somebody could guide me through this.

I tried troubleshooting and typed the following in the Advanced Fedora Recovery mode:

Code:
systemctl status NetworkManager-wait-online.service
to get:

Code:
               Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/NetworkManager-wait-online.service; enabled
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Wed ...
               Process: 802 ExecStart=/usr/bin/nm-online -q --timeout = 30 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
               CGroup: name=systemd:/system/NetworkManager-wait-online.service

Re: Failed to start Network Manager Wait Online

do you have entries for network-drives in your
Code:
/etc/fstab
, which use fuse? if so, check if they have the
Code:
_netdev
option checked, which tells fstab to wait, until the network-connection is estamblished. you might want delete this option, if you do not use a wireless lan connection or use noauto instead.

Re: Failed to start Network Manager Wait Online

That is telling you that the NetworkManager-wait-online.service it timing out before it receives a response telling it that the network is ready.

You can change the timeout value if you need it to have more time.

The service file is located at /usr/lib/systemd/system/NetworkManager-wait-online.service

Re: Failed to start Network Manager Wait Online

Thanks for the reply. I realize the solutions might be simple but I could only wonder if they would have been sufficient. . My problems with Fedora 17 were multiple in number, particularly due to the HP-dvx series' inherent incompatibilities with Linux-based OSs. I am running Ubuntu now and it has worked resonably well on this install, desite many minor incompatibility issues.

Thanks again, for you time
