Agreed, but in that case, less is more. Too much branding. The center logo and words are more of a distraction than anything else. Try it much smaller, if at all, and un-center it. (the logo & messages) Perhaps integrate the wording and logos into the buildings as signage?

I wandered where I was going wrong! I think I need to try a more abstract layout in future, only problem being that I like things neat and tidy! The eternal struggle. will give something a go

Wow, I was in Kona at the same time you were! The pic I took must have been right after your wife took hers. As you can see, the locals were pretty frightened by the "guest":

Good camera shot And oddly enough, the guest likes children and is their defender.

The funny part about cameras for us (and the trip), I had an inexpensive portable digital Nikon and a new fancier (film) Nikon. Most of the fun shots, ended up coming from the portable digital and my Wife's good camera eye
